  1. In my district there are two holy wells, one in Callanagh and the other in Carnagh. The one in Carnagh is in a field that belongs to Philip Donohoe. People visit this well on Monday, Thursday and the next Monday to get cured of their illnesses. Rounds are preformed and prayers said.
    The Saint connected with Carnagh well in St. Patrick and people visit it on St. Patrick's Day. When people are leaving this well they tie a piece of cloth on an old elder-berry tree that stands beside the stream that runs from it. There is a big stone there with the
