    You tender-hearted christians all around the Western shore,
    Come join in lamentation whilst here I do deplore,
    For the loss of that brave worthy man, the generous John Fee,
    Who perished in the raging waters of the Atlantic sea

    (II)
    On the 19th of July in the year 1801,
    He was for recreation upon Bundoran Strand
    He saw a female in distress afloating on the waves,
    By assisting whom he met his doom and found a watery grave

    His generous heart expanded through heroic zeal
    He felt for human nature as manly hearts can feel,
    And without hesitation his garments flung aside
    His soul intent, on mercy bent he plunged into the tide.
