    The woman go about from house to house begging, and that is how they get their food. It is very few of the travelling folk that are welcome nowadays because they expect too much alms. It is generally on a by road that they stay, but they are not allowed to stay longer than three days. It is in bands that they travel every two or three families have a van of their own and it is in that van that they sleep. The alms that they accept are tea, sugar, bread, bacon, flour, and milk.
