  1. The whole houses that were a time ago were all thatched. There was one room and kitchen. In some other houses there was a Forue or a half loft where there was a bed always. The fire was always on the middle of the floor, and they used to sit round it. The floor was a clay one and in some old houses there is a clay one in it yet There was a little low chimney made of clay and in some of the old houses there was no chimney, they used to open the door and let out the smoke
    There was a half door in every house and nearly in every house yet there is one. They used wood for fire. They lighted the house at night with rush candles
