  1. There are many signs by which the people can know what sort of weather is coming. If a cat has her back to the fire it is a sign of a storm. If a cat is rubbing a tree with her paws it is a sign of wind. If a cat washes her face and puts her paw over her ear it is a sign of a flood.
    If a cricket sings sharply it is a sign of rain
    When the birds fly low it is a sign of storm.
    When there is a blow down the chimney it is a sign of rain.
    If the tongs are cold it is a sign of rain.
    If the fire is blue when you are making it it is a sign of storm.
    When the mountains look near it is a sign of storm
    The north wind doth blow and you shall have snow.
    If a dog is eating grass it is a sign of storm
    If a crane is in a river it is a sign of storm
    If the soot is falling it is a sign of rain.
    When lightning is seen in the sky it is a sign of storm.
    When there is a mist on cuileagh it is a sign of rain.
    A robin coming into the house is a sign of snow.
    When the sky appears to be near it is a sign of storm
