  1. A cure for mumps is to creep under a donkeys legs. If a pair of winkers are put on a man with sore eyes, and he is brought to a stream and his eyes washed in the stream, his eyes will get better.
    People put salt in boiling water and put it to a sore tooth to cure toothache. If warts are ruled with fat bacon the fat bacon afterwards left along the road they will disappear.
    When children have the whooping cough, their parents put garlic to their feet, and it cures the "whoop." If a person sprains his foot, he gets a sprain string tied on his foot.
