    Cornaan: This is the name of the townland in which I live. The meaning of the word Cornaan is a little pile of clay. When you look at it from a height it is in the shape of a round pile.
    My home farm.
    Pat's field: It gets its name from a man that owned it by the name of Pat Byrne.
    The Mill Meadow. It gets its name from a mill that was once there. This mill was owned by a man named Ambrose Byrne.
    "The field in front of the door." It is so called because it is in front of the door.
    "The Fallow field". It is so called because one year it is ploughed and the other year it is not.
    "The longfield". So called because of its length.
    "Scald pike". So called because of its blackness.
