    Merry Wexford Town.
    i
My bonny barque bounds light and free,
    Across the surging foam
And bears me far from Innisfail
    To seek a distant home,
    A lonely exile driven,
    Mid misfortunes coldest frown
From my loved home and cherished friends
    In dear old Wexford town.
    ii
Shall I no more gaze on that shore,
    Or on the mountains wild,
Or stray along the Slaney banks
    Whilst yet a child
Or watch the sun of Carrighburn
    Light oer the heather brown
Before he flings his farewell beams
    Oer merry Wexford town
    iii
And here upon the deck I stand
    And view the fading shore
Sweet thoughts arise of loving friends
Whom I may see no more
Of kindly deeds of loving smiles
