  1. (continued from previous page)
Apast my cheeks the tears flow down
Of thinking still of friends who dwell
    In merry Wexford town
    iv
But O, when years have rolled away
When the exile comes once more
To see old Ireland shall he be
    As welcome as of yore
When amid the well remembered scenes
    He wandered up and down
Shall love and friendship greet him
As when first in Wexford town
    v
I know not but I fondly know
    Where e'er my foot-steps roam
I cherish grateful in my heart
Sweet thoughts of friends and home
And fades Carrinsore and o'er my soul
    The night comes sadly down
May God be with you mother-land
    When first in Wexford town.
