  1. The people in this area used to get married generally before Lent and Advent. Days considered unlucky for marrying were May Day, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Those days are still considered unlucky when attempting any project, but Saturday is looked upon as the day of greatest ill-luck. "Saturdays fliting is a short sitting", say the old people of the locality.
    These are some old sayings in regard to the days for getting married.
    "Monday for health,
    Tuesday for Wealth,
    Wednesday the best day of all,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
    And Saturday no luck at all."
    The people long ago (100 years) in this locality did not go to chapel to get married. The priest came
