    The Fenians of the locality were led by the Rover Farrell who lived in Larkfield. Other prominent man in the organisation were
    Peter Victory or Peter Bó
    Francis Reilly called Francis the Fox
    James Brady
    Willie Murphy
    John Blaney
    Red Paddy Brady and a man called Rogers from the townland of Derrycasson.
    They once decided to raid Peter Reilly’s, Cloonagh, for a gun. Reilly was an “emergency man”. they held their meeting in Leitrim bog & the plans were prepared for the raid. They were all to meet at a certain spot on the night of the raid. All turned up, except one –Peter Bó, - but Francis Reilly (Fox) decided to abandon
