    In Autumn the men dig them up and pick them. They put the good ones in a pit and they boil the small ones for the fowl. The small potatoes are called poateens.
    Long ago the people used to make starch from potatoes. They used to put raw potatoes in a bag and crush them. The juice that came out of them was called starch.
