  1. Saint Stephen's Day falls on the 26th December. On that day, men called wren-boys go out hunting the wren. They disguise themselves in different clothes and they go about singing and dancing from house to house and when they are singing and dancing one man goes around with the money-box gathering money. They also say a rhyme:
    "The Wren, The Wren,
    The King of all birds,
    St. Stephen's Day,
    Was caught in the furze.
    Although she is little,
    Her family is great,
Put your hand in your pocket,
    And give her a treat."
