    The magpie builds her nest in a high tree from sticks and mud. She lays 6 white eggs and sits on them 4 weeks. The magpie was once a whole black bird. One day she was invited to a party and she began to nibble at the dainties. The maid was so enraged that she began to scold her. The magpie began to twitter about. The maid threw a jug of milk after her and ever since she is a white and black bird.
