  1. Last night I got information from my father concerning the manner the people used to get married long ago.
he told me that the people used to get married at Shrove and on St. Patrick's day.
I asked him what were the lucky and unlucky days to get married and he recited this verse,
    "Monday for Health,
    Tuesday for Wealth,
Wednesday the best day of all.
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
And Saturday is no day at all."
Long ago when people were going to get married an old shoe was thrown after them for luck.
    He recited this verse,
    "Happy, Happy is the corps
    that the rain rains on.
