    Ploughman. Michael Shields was a very good ploughman, he was born in Lisclogher in the year 1856/ He died at the age of seventy six in the year 1932. He could plough a half an acre of lea ground in a day, with the old plough.
    Thatcher and Thresher. Thomas Balfe was a good thatcher and thresher. He was born at Ballinadrima in 1862. He could thatch 13 feet by 12 in a day, and he could thresh two barrels in a day with a flail. He died in the year 1936 at the age of seventy four.
    Mower. Patrick Leavy of Addinstown could mow an acre of a meadow in a day with a scythe. He was born in 1831, and he died at the age of eighty seven in the year 1918.
    Reaper. Larry Leavy of Addinstown could reap a half an acre of corn in a day with a hook. He died at the age of seventy in the year 1908.
    Slainsman. John Hogan of Lisclogher was a good slainsman. He was born in the year 1850. He could thirty gauges of turf in a day. He died in 1920.
