As glowing sol his beams withdrew from Erin's gills of green,
    Along I wandered through Loughcrew
    to enjoy each pleasing scene.
I crossed to gain a distant grove a cowslip studded plain,
And though I met the queen of love in fair unrivalled Jane.

I saw the moon at blushing dawn at eve the showery bow,
The moon and trees that graced the lawn and cyrstal stream below,
And pearly dew drops sparkling bright on bush and golden grain,
I saw red rose and lily white, but nothing saw like Jane.
