  1. There is a cave down in Newrath and down in it are three roads, one leading to the right, another to the left and the third on straight. No-one ventures to go down into it since the strange happenings that occurred there a long time ago.
    There was a poor man playing a fiddle on the street of Kells one day, and some man who was interested in seeing where the roads lead to told the fiddler he would give him a large sum of money if he went into the cave. He also told him to keep playing
