  1. About the year 1842 there was a lace factory in Kells owned by Mr. Colston. About 100 women were engaged in it.
    This factory was situated where the Medical Hall now stands.

  2. In the Kells Convent Cemetery there is to be seen a small stone holy-water font bearing the date 1798.
    This date tells the year when the present Kells catholic church was erected.
    The font was used in this church for over 70 years.
    About 50 years ago, or more the old sanctuary was knocked down
