  1. The swan would die of pride were it not for her black feet. She stands on the brink of the lake and admires herself in the clear water. Her snowy plumage, she thinks is most beautiful, her slender graceful neck and well shaped bill - all is perfect and she is just full of herself. Suddenly she sees the reflection of her feet - two big awkward black ones! She is disgusted and horrified at them!
    It is very unlucky to hurt a swan or interfere with her.
