- The fairies never cared for a person who kept late hours, as this hindered their revelries. The story is told of a man who was accustomed to being out late at night. One night he was coming home from his ceidhle later than usual. He had to cross a field, and as he was crossing it, he saw a large crowd preparing for a horse race. Some were already mounted and those who were not were being supplied with horses. No sooner had they "Get me a horse" than away they were on a fine racer. Soon the man found himself very anxious to join them, the more so when the horses were got so cheaply.
He shouted "Get me a horse", and instantly he found himself mounted on a very fast horse(continues on next page)- Collector
