- The chief breakfast food long ago was stirabout which was eaten with milk when it was plentiful if not without it.
For dinner they usually ate potatoes which were put in a basket on the floor and milk was drunk in noggins made of wood. Salt was also used.
When tea time came they used to eat oaten bread. If not they used to eat stirabout or potatoes. They used to drink tea very seldom.
They usually ate potatoes for their supper too. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
