Once there was a bottle of whiskey broken at Xmas and during the night a mouse came out and started to drink it. He drank so much of it that he got drunk and stood up on his hind legs saying "Where is the cat that was looking for me yesterday."

  2. A Funny Story
Philomena Mahon aged thirteen and a half years
Long ago when the fairies were in Ireland. They used to have men working for them and one day a fairy told a man to polish his shoes and the man answered 'What use is it polishing shoes when they get dirty again. The next day the man said he was very hungry and he wanted his dinner but the fairy said "What use is it eating when you get hungry again."
Told by my mother Mrs. Mahon, Tullahanogue Trim (32)
