  1. The following is a prayer to be said while taking holy water. Mary Farrell learned it from her grandmother, Mrs. Farrell of Cartown, Ballymakenny:-
Sprinkle us O Lord with Thy hyssop (?)
Wash us O Lord and we shall be made whiter than snow
Mrs Farrell also taught this prayer to her grand daughter. It is a night prayer
Here I lay me down to sleep
To God I give my soul to keep
Whether I rise now or never
I give my soul to God for ever
There are four corners on my bed
There are four angels round my head
    Mathew, Mark, Luke & John
