None of the older residents around Ballymakenny...

None of the older residents around Ballymakenny seem to have any idea of the origin of the name. Any of them that do give an opinion think that it means Kenny's town. According to O'Donovan the name of the Parish and townland is Baile Mhic Eannaigh or Baile Mhic Ínneáidh. There is no mention of a Kenny ever having lived around but Heeneys lived in the village of Ballymakenny just opposite the church.
