A hedge-school master taught at Strinagh.
His name was Burke. He taught in a farmhouse in Winter, but in Summer he taught out in the open.
He was not a stranger, he came from the other side of the district.
Sometimes he was paid by a dozen of eggs and other times by a shilling.
