    the English language. These two teachers lodged with other people in the district.
    There was a Protestant school long ago at a place called Halls cross. This school was situated beside a field. This field is called the school-house field ever since the school was there. There were no Catholics allowed to attend this school. The name of the teacher who tought in this school was Stephen Smyth.
