  2. About 50 years ago a farmer from this locality took a cow to the fair of Miltownmalbay to sell. His wife went into the town soon after him. The farmer sold the cow and the buyer took him into the bank to pay him. As they were returning to where the cow stood the buyer noticed a woman drawing hairs off the cow's tail. She proved to be the wife of the farmer who sold the animal. The buyer concluded that she did this in order to hold the produce of the cow, and he immediately refused to take the beast and demanded his money.
The farmer repaid the money after a long noisy argument and took home the cow. She was found dead in a cabin next morning.

  3. A certain farmer was very much annoyed for a few years because his cows gave milk of very poor quality and there was little or no return of butter. So one May night he decided to get a gun and remain watching his cows.
About midnight (it being moonlight) he noticed a hare
