  1. At one time their lived in Kiltankin a very strong man named John Hennessy. He was known as the strongest man for miles around and was nicknamed Philpot he was about 6 ft 6 ins in height and weighed 20 stone. One day he was drawing stones with a horse and butt. The ground being wet the horse was unable to pull the load So he untackled the horse and hauled the load of stones to the road.
