  2. One day a man from Ballyporeen was coming from Loismore. Passing
Baellough a woman asked him for a lift. He gave it to her and from the time she sat in the horse refuse to go. He said to her that his horse was able to draw two ton weight every day. But she said there is more than two ton weight on him now, and it is well for you that you took me up or you or your horse would never pass Baellough to night. Next morning the horse was dead in the stable. Another man passing by the lough one night found he in the car with him. He pretended not to see her but when he got home he left the horse in the yard and ran in but she caught a harrow and threw it after him missing him by a few inches.
