  1. Long ago there lived an Irish dwarf in Garrymore. He was but three feet nine inches in height, and endowed with great strength. He was so strong that no giant of his time could compete with him. He could carry four men with ease, sitting on each shoulder, and for years used exhibit other extraordinary feats of strength. Sometime before his death he sold his body to a surgeon for a weekly allowance.
