  1. Long ago mills were built along the river Tar, and local people took their wheat to the Castlegrace Mill. It belonged to Mr. Grubb. The people also came from Lismore and from far off places also. On their way home a band of robbers attacked them, robbed them and frequently riled them. It was said that it was the work of "Petticoat Loose" but in reality it was a band of robbers who lived at Goalenbridge.
