  1. Long ago people kept 29 Aug as a "Pattern Day". The people went to mass that day and then assembled near an old ruined church where there is an old font. It was the custom to put their heads into this font to free themselves from headaches. No one worked on that day. At the present time the "pattern" is kept in a different manner. Some people go to mass but work goes on as usual immediately after.
