   There is a herb called marsh mallow. It is good for sprains or stiffness in the joints or muscles. The way to make it is to boil and mix it with lard. It should be put on a bandage and put to the affected part and it should be left on for twenty four hours. It should be taken off then a fresh one put on. There is another herb called Dandelion. It is good for a person's stomach. If there are big thistles in a field it is a sign it is rich soil. If there are small thistles in a field it is a sign of poor ground.
