This song was composed by James Dunne who came from Kilkenny...

to wheel turf in Corrig Bog for several years :-
I hope in May we'll meet some day
    In bright and sunny weather
With health and wealth , the bog will belt
    And cut the turf together
In hail or rain we'll work the slane
    And make the barrows rattle
And then we'll go to Templemore
Where we will wet our throttle
    In Ferne's shop we'll have a drop
    Of handy or good stout
And we are the boys that will come home
    And neither bawl or shout
Edge up that Slane , we'll jump the drain
We're men of bone and muscle
The saw-mill near , we'll give one cheer
    For Leahy and Young Russell
