  1. Once upon a time there was a man who had a valuable number of cows. In the morning the had no milk and in the night they had a lot. The man wondered what was wrong with his cows so he went to Father Corcoran P.P of Ballingarry. The priest told the man he would go to the house and say mass to make things alright. The Priest told the the man to have everything ready on the following morning.
    The Priest went to the house and when he was saying mass he ordered the door to be locked. During the mass a knock came to the door and when the mass was over they opened the and there was a little woman standing outside. This little woman was working pishogues. The Priest scolded her beat her and told her if she did the like again he would put her into a hole where she would never come out of. So the little woman never came again and the mans cows were alright in the morning

  2. In older times houses weren't as nice or as comfortable as now-a-days. About thirty years ago there was a little woman living in the townland of knockeravoola. Her name was Sally Carroll. She had a very small house. The roof of it was thatched with rushes. The chimmeny was made of wattles
