When cattle lie by the ditches it is the sign of bad weather.
The finest day that ever came if the goats run to their resting place the night is going to be wet.
When the cows run in summer in the fields it is the sign of rain.
If one swallow is seen coming it is the sign of a bad summer and when they fly low it is the sign of rain.
When the gulls fly inland it is the sign of a storm at sea.
When the robin is seen at the bottom of a bush in the morn it is the sign of a bad day
if he is in the middle of it it will be a middling day if he is at the top of it it will be a fine day.
When the blackbird picks at the bottom of the hedge it is the sign of snow.
When the curlew flies and screams loudly it is the sign of good weather.
When the crane swims against the current
it is the sign of fine weather when he swims with the current it is the sign of bad weather.
