  1. (no title) (continued)

A tailor was making clothes in a certain house. There was a baby in their house and day and night he never stopped crying.

    (continued from previous page)
The tailor worked away in that house until evening and in fact worked well on into the night when he got finished, and as he was to be with their next-door neighbour the following day he remained there that night. The people of that house were not early risers evidently because the tailor had to go before they had breakfast and when he got to the next house their breakfast was over, and they offered him none.
About 11 o'clock he was starved with the hunger and was wondering what to do. At last he asked the woman of the house for a lighted candle. On getting it went out to the pathway between the two houses and began, by the way, searching up and down, backwards and forwards. After some time the woman asked him what was wrong with him searching there with his candle in broad daylight. He said "I lost my breakfast between these two houses and I am looking for it."
