- (continued from previous page)The finer part of the flax, when spun, was woven into linen for shirts, tablecloths and towels. Course sheets were made of the rougher stuff.The local mill wove the flax into linen.
- Baptisms took place at Stations of convenient. The Stations were held in this locality then in the houses. Now they only take four days in the Church when several townlands are bulked together each day.Breakfast was given to everyone, always a drop of whiskey and usually there was a great day in the Station house.
- Marriage - Eloping on horseback was very often done. Especially if the girl had money and the fellow knew he would not be considered a suitable party for so large a fortune, he(continues on next page)
