    Match-making. Some one is sent to introduce the match. The "boy & girl" friends meet. (See Local marriage customs)
    Shrove Tuesday:
    "Skeilig's List" - containing the names of all those who SHOULD be married, was compiled locally & distributed. Sometimes a song was composed. The "eligibles" were vexed, as a result.
    Cars were placed at the doors of the "old maids & bachelors to take them to "Skeilig".

    Nil. People like to get the blessed ashes.
