    Whit Sunday & Whit Monday: Nil.
    May Day:
    People do not like to sit on grass or to cut grass or hay. Farmers shook holy water on the boundaries to prevent any wicked person from injuring their property.
    Wicked women entered farmers' stalls on May morning, milked the cows & were supposed to derive the full benefit of the milk for the year. On the eve, of May Day evil people threw dead animals into their neighbours' lands.
    St. John's Day:
    Big fires are lighted in the open on the eve of St. John's Day. Children play near the fires.
    Feast of Sts. Peter & Paul: Nil.
    Feast of Assumption: Nil.
    Michaelmas: Nil
    St. Martin's Day : Nil
    St. Thomas' Day: Nil
    Hallowe'en:
    Apples are placed in a large vessel of water & children "dive" for them. Apples are suspended from the ceiling by means of pieces of string & nails. Children try to bite off the fruit.
    The 12 Days of Christmas: Nil
    New Year's Eve.:
    Large Xmas. candles are left lighting through the night.
    New Year's Day:
