One night he was returning home from town after selling baskets and turf. At "Pondy's Cross" the horse pulled against the side of the ditch. The car fell down on him and killed him. There was a graveyard where he was killed. The graveyard is not there nowdays. His daughter sold the land and left the country. The remains of the house can be seen to day.
The land is owned by Denis Sullivan Some people say it was the fairies killed him.
