    The bara bo'os wildness,
    I met for the fray,
    The crotal's soft mildness,
    For festival gay,
    The clarsech is meeter
    For lower and hall
    But they chanter sounds sweet
    For sweeter than all.

    The chanter along
    And the keys are replying
    In wildness of song
    Thy bagpipes are speaking
    Such magical strain
    As minstrels are seeking
    To rival in vain.
