    been made the parties show their agreement by the buyer spitting in his hand and striking the other man's palm with his hand. When an animal is sold it is marked with paint or by clipping hair at the side. When cattle are sold the rope is not given away with them but it is with horses. Toll is paid in Bantry and Skibbereen. Six - pence a head for cattle that are marked. If a neighbour bought cattle he need not mark them, then he need not pay any toll. If cattle are not sold no toll is paid.
