  1. There is a ruined mansion in the school district. One of the Talbots built it. It is derelict for about eighteen years. It is situated on the bank of the river Suck. It is in the townland of Mount Talbot, in the parish of Tisara, and in the barony of Athlone.
    It was besieged in 1922. The defenders were in the mansion and the attackers were outside. The attackers were on the road and in the lawn firing in and the defenders were firing out at them.
