- The leipreachan is very small. He is dressed in red and green cloth and has a hammer in his hand. He is met with in very lonely and backward places.
He is said always to be shoe - making. Leipreachans are looked upon as being very kindly and any money that is got through the leipreachan is said to be very lucky. The only way he helps human beings is that he reluctantly tells the individual where the gold or money is.
When my father was a young boy he knew a man who saw a leipreachan but when he approached near he vanished. After that the people of that village went out every night in hopes of seeing and robbing the leipreachán
