    The Summer sun shone brightly on the parish of Lisheen
    O'er hill and dale and valley lay a mantle of pure green
    The Sabbath bells being chiming we went and prayed a while
    Then said I to a welcomed friend we'll

    The boat we anchored at the Dock and hurried on to meet
    The loving hearts that always flocked the strangers for to greet.
    Then to the inn to get a drink we marched in double file
    But there I had not hoped to find the flower of Sherkin Isle

    o'er set the moon
    We dined and hurried on our way to search the shore full soon
    Three jolly youths conveyed us where young lovely females smile
