  1. Once upon a time two Irish tinkers went to London and got lodgings at a very large hotel. When they went to pay in the morning they found they had not enough money to pay. The only thing they had was their budgets which the landlord kept. Daniel O Connell was then in London and met those tinkers he gave them advice how to get their budgets back. He got them new suits and tall hats and two trunks. They gathered enough scrap iron and tin to fill these trunks then they returned to the hotel and hired a front room for a week at a fee of two pounds. They ordered their luggage from the station. They paid their rent and got the key of their room. They started to work as quickly as they could to hang the old tin and iron on the window and all round the room. When the landlord got up in the morning he found these tinkers hard at work and asked them to leave. But they kept on tap tap taking no notice of the landlord.
