  1. Long ago the people lived on porridge and potatoes together with a little meal, milk and butter.
    The people worked in the mornings before they ate. The breakfast usually consisted of porridge with buttermilk, the mid day meal potatoes and milk and supper again consisted of porridge.
    In the neighbourhood of the town a little animal food was enjoyed.
    Later on tea came along and all the different foods we enjoy today.
