  1. When the clouds are rambling through the sky, it is a sign of rain.
    If there is a rainbow in the sky it is a sign of showery weather.
    When the sky is red in summer, it is a sign of heat.
    When the clouds are grey it is a sign of rain.
    A starry night is a sign of frost.
    When the wind is coming from the west it is a sign of rain to come.
    On coming from the N. W. the wind brings snow and rain or sleet.
    When the wind comes from the south we know the days will be warm.
    When the swallows are flying high it is a sign of good weather, but when they are flying low we may expect rain.
    When the crows and other wild birds fly mixed together it is a sign of rain.
    When the sea gulls fly inland it is a sign of storm.
